REV/FOR runs Voice 1 in reverse and Voice 2 forward. FOR/REV runs Voice 1 forward and Voice 2 in reverse. The Pitch Direction parameter controls the direction of the pitch shifters. Several reverb types are included to demonstrate the capability: Andromeda - Aquarius - Capricorn - Centaurus - Gemini - Pegasus - Sagitarius - Ursu Major. The Reverb block can create shimmer reverb effects on its own through built-in pitch shifting (firmware 17.01 and later). Several new types are included to demonstrate the capability.Ĭamilo Velandia demonstrates Reverb types in the Axe-Fx III Shimmer This can be used to create “Shimmer Reverbs” easier than using separate Pitch and Reverb blocks (and with less CPU usage). You should find the reverbs to be more natural and spacious sounding now." Īdded dedicated Pitch Shifting to the Reverb block. "All the reverb types have been updated in addition to updated algorithms. "Improved CPU usage for Reverb block in high-quality modes." This can be used to reduce CPU usage when building elaborate presets." Also added “Boiiinnng!” parameter which controls the “springiness” of the reverb." This mode increases the modulation at the expense of a slight increase in CPU usage." "Added ULTRA-HIGH quality mode to Reverb block. Also the reverb defaults to high-quality mode whereas the II defaults to normal-quality mode." (Axe-Fx III) "The new reverb algorithms use more CPU than those from the Axe-Fx II would use but they sound better. Also, lots of types have been added, including various "cloud" types and a Deluxe Spring Reverb. Reverb has been improved in firmware Ares and later.

Ironically, I've become tired of navigating and tweaking Strymon menus but this sounds absurd in comparison to the H9, at first. The 80s modulated reverb in the Flint might have been my favorite Strymon reverb. The Spring Tremolo program on the H9 sounds pretty damn good in the Vintage King demo. I'll have to do a deep comparison of the rotary, phaser and trem sounds. I'm pretty sure I can live without everything on the Mobius. I think I will miss the dTape and possible Ice mode. Plus I have an analog delay on the board so it's no contest. I also think I favor the Eventide vintage delay over both dBucket and Lo-Fi modes of the Strymon. I missed it since making the move to Strymon. IMO, Eventide's modulated delay is better than the modulation of the Timeline. It's a niggling annoyance and I'm trying to see if I can move ahead without a Timeline and Mobius. Strymon large pedals also have noise issues with charge pump pedals. I think I just got bored of the Strymon sound over time, except for the Big Sky which is really a leap above IMO. I'm also considering the Echolution2 Deluxe soon. My current plan is to remove the Mobius and Timeline and run the H9 Max and Big Sky. I have all three large Strymon pedals on my current board and a $552 black Friday H9 Max coming this week.
